How to care for your Terracotta Cookware
- Before using for the first time, soak in water for 6 hours or overnight.
- Always place in a cold oven, then set the temperature. Do not use over a burner or heating element, without using a heat diffuser.
- Set the clay pot on a tea towel or cloth when removing it from the oven, rather than on a cold surface which may cause it to crack.
- Wash and dry carefully by hand, not in the dishwasher.
- Do not store for long periods with the lid on as it may become mouldy if not carefully dried. If this does happen, make a paste with baking soda and water, place on affected area and allow to dry. Then brush off and wash normally.
